Henry Bird diary

L. Tom Perry Special Collections is pleased to announce the availability of a new digitized collection: Henry Bird diary (MSS SC 1959). The item is a handwritten diary dated 1865-1929 wherein Bird talks about his activities and about the places he visited while serving in the Northwestern States Mission. Also included are biographies of Henry Bird’s father, Edmund Bird, and notes relating to Bird family genealogy.

Henry Bird was born in 1840 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Edmund Fuller Bird and Mary Montgomery. He served an LDS mission to the Northwestern States from 1888-1890.
