Nauvoo Female Relief Society Minute Book

A major source for LDS women’s theology and history within the Joseph Smith Papers is the original Minute Book of the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo fully available online.   This book recorded all proceedings of the Society between March 1842 and March 1844 –including elections, ordinations, teachings by Emma and Joseph Smith, and women’s blessings.  Joseph Smith called this record the women’s “law and constitution” evoking notions of the “law and covenants” of the Church.
