Movie Review | Iron Monkey
Iron Monkey is a kung fu film with some of the biggest names in martial arts like Donnie Yen. A corrupt government official terrorizes a small town in China and a vigilante rises up in order to bring peace and stability to their town. With thrilling fight scenes and a moving story, this is a classic film that highlights the glamour of martial arts in film.
I personally enjoyed this movie because of its fast pacing and excellent story. While some of the stunts and visual effects were a little cheesy or over the top, it didn’t detract too much from the actual film. While the protagonists are multi-faceted three dimensional characters, the antagonists had very little depth and felt very shallow with their motives, which is why I gave this film only four stars. But, overall it was an awesome and fun film to watch.
