HBLL Library Services

Independent Study students may use all library resources directly from the Harold B. Lee Library website

  1. Use your course-specific Independent Study Net ID and password to log in.
  2. Click Research Guides on the home page.
  3. There are both Subject Guides and Course-Specific Guides to choose from. The guides will help you select sources for the subject you are researching or for the course you are taking.

Some Independent Study courses have a course guide link in the course. Look for it in the course flow menu.

Using Other Libraries

Many states now offer online library resources to all state residents. Find out if your state offers these services, or use the Internet Public Library.

If you live near a college, university or public library, you may be able to use resources through them, but the Harold B. Lee Library does not have agreements with any library to provide BYU Independent Study students special privileges.
