This research guide is more specific than our "Business Management Guide." Here you will find databases, links, and print resources that will help you in your research of specific companies, their financial information, key products, market information, and investment information.

ABI/INFORM (ProQuest)- Indexes and abstracts articles in business and management with many articles appearing in full-text. It included approximately 2400 titles. Table of contents by periodical titles are also available.
LexisNexis Academic - is a full-text database which provides full-text access to national & international news, business, legal, and reference information, including federal & state case law, company financials, state statistics, and accounting, auditing & tax information. Includes Hoover Handbooks Reports, Disclosure and Worldscope Reports, and the S& P Standard Corporate Descriptions. All of these reports provide strategic and financial information of publicly held corporations. Go to "Lexis Nexis", Click on "Business", Click on "company financial reports" and change to desirable source.
Business Source Premier (EBSCO) - Provides indexing and abstracts and full text for nearly 2,300 journals in business business, management, economics, finance, banking, and accounting. Full text backfiles as far back as January 1990. Updated daily.

Disclosure Reports- These reports are available full-text through LexisNexis Academic. Go to "Academic Universe", Click on "Business", Click on "company profiles", select the source "Disclosure(R) Online Database-US Public Company Profiles" These reports provide financial information on companies from the United States, including detailed information on approximately 12,000 large corporations. The information is primarily derived from the financial reports and other disclosure statements which publicly traded U. S. companies are required to file with the Securities and Exchange Commission. For retrospective information see the Mergent (Moody's) Manuals at the Mgt/Econ/Gov Info area.
Hoover's - Includes company overview, history, products/operations on more than 18,500 public and private U.S. companies and international companies. Covers major industry trends, industry links, and IPO information.
EDGAR - Financial reports, of U.S. corporations from reports submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Includes annual reports, quarterly reports, balance sheet, income statement, security activity and analysis and much more.
Factiva - Select Companies/Markets tab then click "company". This search option gives you access to Company Quick Search, Quotes, Charting, Company Screening, and customized company reports.
Value Line Research Center - A Financial Investment related database. This database provides independent research and data on companies, and markets to aid investors in making financial decisions. Research is proprietary and comes from Value Line analysts. Graphs and charts on market performance also available. HIstorical quotes from 1997-01-03 are also available.
Business & Company Resource Center (Gale)- Indexes public and private company data, including contact names, addresses and telephone numbers, total employees, sales volume and business descriptions. Covers more than 11,000 U.S. & international companies and 53 industries. "Geography Search" provides the largest companies by sales in a city, state or country.
Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) -Best known for its holdings of historical financial data from CRSP and COMPUSTAT. This data covers over 30,000 companies and includes security prices and trading volume, income and balance sheet items. WRDS also contains stock market indices, bond prices and interest rates, mutual fund and stock ownership information, options data, and a wide array of macroeconomic time series. International data, marketing and industry reports, and web usage data are also available on WRDS.
S&P NetAdvantage Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage is a comprehensive source of business and investment information, offering on-line access to Standard & Poor's independent research, data and commentary on stocks, bonds, funds, and industries. LexisNexis Academic - This database includes EDGAR filings, annual & quarterly reports & proxy statements. Go to "Lexis Nexis", Click on "Business", Click on "SEC Filings and Reports", write down the company's name.
Annual Report Service - You can access annual reports for free.

Includes profiles of 500 major U.S. private enterprises, with full page summaries of the 125 Leading Private Companies. It also includes profiles of over 500 major U.S. companies, both public and private. Contains an overview of the company, history, location, brief financials, directors names, and a list of key competitors in the industry. Includes profiles of 165 international companies.
International Directory of Company Histories(PRINT) - Mgt/Econ/Gov Info, HD 2721 .I63
Origin and development of major companies, both domestic and foreign companies. Also available electronically through Business & Company Resource Center (Gale). Perform a company search, select your company, then click the "history" tab.
- LexisNexis Academic - Business- To create a company list select "Dossier Create a Company List" then specify the attributes of the companies you are looking for, then click "Create" to see a list of companies that match your criteria. For example, you can retrieve a list of companies by geographic area, by industry, companies with assets above a certain amount, or a combination of these or other criteria. After entering your search criteria, you can request that additional information be displayed with your results such as ticker symbol, the telephone number, or the earnings per share for the companies in your results.
- Mint Global Mint Global provides information on 40 million companies worldwide, including annual reports, peer analysis, mergers and acquisitions news, shareholder information, and ownership trees. The friendly interface allows for sophisticated searching and lists of companies can be downloaded.
