Welcome to Families and Literacy
The Families and Literacy blog promotes the many benefits of family literacy. Family literacy encompasses activities conducted within a family unit that build knowledge or competence in life skills, such as reading, writing, communicating, information use, and digital media applications.
Busy parents, grandparents, teachers, and others will find reliable resources and information in a variety of forms, including literacy tips, book lists, websites, media, and research, to help make literacy part of everyday family life. Some resources support the literacy programming found on KBYU. For more information on this programming, go to http://www.byub.org.
Contributors to the blog include academic and youth-serving librarians, university students and professors, literacy experts, educators, authors, and illustrators.
