OECD Data Has Arrived at BYU

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013

On June 25th 2013, The Harold B. Lee Library received full, unlimited access to OECD publications and data. This data will be available immediately. This subscription includes all OECD books, papers and datasets. OECD iLibrary spans content from economics, education, energy, health, trade, environment, agriculture, development, and more. This has been requested by faculty and students for a number of years and we’re thrilled to be able to make it happen. Here is the link to OECD.

We anticipate this will be an invaluable tool both for faculty research and student coursework. If you are interested in training or in-class demonstrations please let us know.

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

For those of you who are interested in the wonderful world of finance and wish to obtain successful careers in Wall Street, come check out our new Bloomberg terminal and participate in its certification program through Bloomberg’s essential exams. These exams cover topics such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Commodities. After viewing each video you will be eligible to take the exams. Bloomberg is a great skill to have, especially in the finance world. This is a great resume booster since most finance firms require a basic knowledge of financial technology from their first year analyst.

Know that you will need at least 75% on each exam to receive acknowledgement from Bloomberg.  We hope you find this useful and we encourage you to stop in room 1210 of the Harold B.
